Distortion pedal of Ben’s during Radish times (especially during Restraining Bolt period).
During his time with Radish, particularly around the "Restraining Bolt" era, Ben Kweller used the Boss PH-2 Super Phaser pedal. This is confirmed by a user-uploaded photo.
Ben Kweller did not use the Marshall JCM800 2203 during his time with Radish. Instead, it appears he may have used an early model of the 2204 or a Bass Series 1992, based on visual evidence from a user-uploaded photo.
In a user-uploaded photo from Ben Kweller's performance on the Weird Al Show, he is seen using a Marshall JCM800 amplifier. While it's uncertain whether it's the Lead Series 2204 or the Bass Series 1992, it's clear that it is not a 2203 model. The amp's inputs are horizontally aligned, suggesting it could be an early 2204 or the Bass Series 1992.
Ben Kweller used a Marshall 1960B 4x12 Straight Cab during his time with Radish, particularly in the Restraining Bolt era. Photos suggest he used a '70s version of the cabinet, noted for its distinctive look.
In a screenshot from Ben Kweller's performance on The Weird Al Show, he is seen using a Marshall JCM800 amplifier. While it's unclear if it's the Lead Series 2204 or the Bass Series 1992, it is definitely not a 2203 model. The distinguishing feature is the horizontal orientation of the last two inputs, consistent with an early model of the 2204 or possibly the Bass Series 1992.
“So Ben was pleased to discover the Yamaha CP280 (sic) Clavinova, which he uses onstage. "For live shows, it's always been my mission to find a digital piano that looks like a piano and has an organic feel," he explains. "It's really difficult to mike an acoustic piano live, especially when you're competing with drums, bass, and guitars. Also, I like my monitors pretty loud, but it's hard to get a piano loud in the wedges without feeding back. With the Yamaha CLP280, I feel like I've found what I was looking for. It sounds so beautiful! I've been very happy with it."”
Back in the Radish days of the mid-late 90s, Ben Kweller would often be seen playing a red Fender Stratocaster. Ben got the guitar for his 11th birthday in 1992, and states it was a MIM. This can also be confirmed by the presence of a truss rod hole, the single string tree, the straight "stratocaster" rather than the curved version often seen on other models, no decal on the very end of the headstock, and rosewood fretboard.
Also clearly at some point in the six years between receiving it and playing it on the Weird Al show, he snapped off part of the pick guard.

"I got my first guitar on my 11th Birthday. It was a Red Fender Stratocaster that was made in Mexico. Soon after learning how to play guitar I formed the bands Mirage, Fox Glove and Digitalis. When we were teenagers, John Kent and I formed the group Radish. Eventually we left High School to pursue Rock and Roll for good"
