Dallas Toler-Wade's Gear
Dallas Toler-Wade uses the Peavey Rock Master Pre-amp, as demonstrated in the YouTube video "RIGGED: Narcotic Wasteland" by Trey Xavier on GEAR GODS.
This is a video published on August 30th, 2017, in which Dallas Toler-Wade, former guitarist/vocalist for Nile and current guitarist/vocalist for Narcotic Wasteland, explains what gear he is currently using. The only portion of the video covered specifically in this EQUIPBOARD Quote/Explanation is what refers to the item entered above in Section 1.
Two Peavey Triple XXX Guitar Amp Heads appear at 0:56. At 0:57, Dallas begins; "So this is my live setup. Just a couple of full stacks with Peavey Triple XXX Heads." He points to the amp on the right side, explaining; "This one has EL-34 power tubes," then pointing to the amp on the left, finishes, "and this one has 6L6 power tubes."
In a video on GEAR GODS, Dallas Toler-Wade discusses using the Marshall JCM900 4100 100-watt 2-channel Tube Head as part of his setup with Narcotic Wasteland.
Dallas used this guitar with Nile at Bloodstock 2012.
In a video by Gear Gods, Dallas Toler-Wade is shown using the Marshall EL34 100/100 Power Amp during a feature on Narcotic Wasteland's gear.
The black Dean Razorback V can be seen throughout the music video being played by Dallas.
Dallas and Karl are both seen with Dean Vs throughout the music video. Dallas' V is equipped with a Seymour Duncan Invader in the neck position, as seen at 0:28. We can tell this is Dallas' V because Karl's is black and is seen throughout the video with a neck pickup that has normal pole pieces (most likely a Duncan Distortion, Karl's preferred neck pickup).
Dallas' V is equipped with a white Seymour Duncan Invader set throughout the video. A zebra-colored Invader neck pickup is also visible in the Sarcophagus music video.
The Right Pick For The Job Starting at 2:09- Dallas: "We're using the Tortex Sharps, and they are the 1.35 I believe." Karl: "Yep. I was using the Dunlop stubby jazz iii purple thingies. Yeah. And when we were tracking the record, there was a rhythm guitar part, a really fast, blistering part, that I was having trouble getting the clarity out of, I was, like, really digging down and, you know, attacking the thing, and I just wasn't getting the clarity, and I picked up one of Dallas' Dunlop Tortex 1.35 sharps and all of a sudden I was like, 'Hey, wow, I can not only hear it, but it's like half as, like, difficult, it takes half the force, and I think it's because not only is the pick stiffer, but the point, is uh, much, much more pointy."
In the video, Dallas mentions that the guitar is completely stock except for the pickups, which he swapped to the Seymour Duncan JB Jazz set, you can find them on the Seymour Duncan website here: https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-product/hot-rodded
There isn’t much information about this guitar, except that he’s used it live with both Nile and Narcotic Wasteland, that’s pretty much it. You can buy it here: https://www.deanguitars.com/series-razorback/
