Dave Stewart's Gear
Dave Stewart extensively used the Hohner Pianet N in the 1970s, particularly on recordings with Hatfield and the North and National Health. This is evidenced by a user-uploaded photo.
Dave Stewart began using the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 synthesizer during his participation in Bruford's debut album, "Feels Good to Me," in 1977. He also demonstrated the Prophet-5/10 in 1980 and incorporated it into his collaborations with Barbara Gaskin.
Dave Stewart has used the WEM Super Starfinder 200 Cabinet since his time with the band Egg. The provided photo, taken at a National Health concert in March 1978, further illustrates his use of this amplifier cabinet.
Dave Stewart used the Hammond L122 organ extensively during his musical career, particularly until the end of the 1970s. This is evidenced by numerous images of him playing the organ with bands such as Egg, Khan, Hatfield and the North, National Health, and Bruford. On his blog, in the "Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin Visitors' Book," Stewart himself confirms the use of the Hammond L122, along with other equipment: "Hammond L122 organ, Rose-Morris Duofuzz fuzz box, Hiwatt 100-watt amp, 2 WEM 4x12 speaker cabs, occasional WEM Copycat echo unit. No percussion used on fuzz solos."
The Shaftsbury Duo-Fuzz is confirmed to be used by Dave Stewart, as it can be seen on the ground next to his Hammond L-122 in the provided image.
The Schaller Yoy-Yoy Bow-Wow is confirmed to be used by Dave Stewart, as it is visibly placed on the floor next to his Hammond L-122, as seen in the provided image proof.
the Hammond L-112 was used on all of the band's albums "egg" "hatfield and the north" and on two "National Health" albums, it is also seen in the live performance of the "bruford" BBC TV series 'Rock Goes To College' in March 1979
The hammond l100 was the only organ used by Dave Stewart, it was the standard instrument until the end of the 70s, being seen in several images of him sitting on this organ in the bands: egg, hatfield and the north, national health and bruford, where it came to replace the organ by the prophet 5 synthesizer.
on his blog: davebarb.com, in the Visitors' Book, dave himself talks about the organ used and all the effect pedals that accompanied it.
Hammond L122 organ, Rose-Morris Duofuzz fuzz box, Hiwatt 100-watt amp, 2 WEM 4x12 speaker cabs, occasional WEM Copycat echo unit. No percussion used on fuzz solos. Let me know if you find a working Duofuzz!
