Donny Benét

Per this Youtube upload dated Sept. 3, 2020, Donny used a 4-string Stingray bass for much of his Mr. Experience album.

Note: The model featured here likely predates Music Man's 1984 acquisition by Ernie Ball, so if you're after this exact sound, a model with the classic 2-band EQ, instead of the more modern 3-band is your best bet. All Stingrays from the 70s and most from the early 80s are 2-band, and Ernie Ball continued to offer the 2-band EQ as a special order into the 2010s, as well as offering it as standard on the "Stingray Classic" model which was in production for much of the 2000s and 2010s.

In this screen-cap from his Youtube video detailing the bass part on his song Cappuccino, Donny shows off his 1966 and 1978 Precision Basses, as well as his rare (but awful) 1979 Precision bass fitted with a huge/heavy bridge. My Googling reveals this boat anchor to be known as "The Claw" -- it was an option you could order factory-installed in 1979, apparently.

In this Youtube video, Donny showcases his 1977 Fender Jazz bass with Mas Hino 60's "hot" pickups, and LaBella RX S4D 45-105 strings.
