In the video @0:35 he says "this is actually probably the the body of this is actually is my very first universe I've been as that I bought when it first came out and I think it was 1990, yeah and it's been rebuilt so many times and you know the original the original neck on here was the disappearing pyramids you know that Steve I designed, and but you, know I sent it to Ibanez and they coated this with I had it covered in duct tape so yeah, it's been rebuilt probably ten times because I kept breaking the neck on it so they had to put this uh, we designed this this neck to reinforce the neck you know because I would I'd slip on the stage a lot and fall on the guitars and they would break or the straps would come off and you know I'd just kind of like kick them across the stage it was complete guitar abuse but yeah, this is one of the original ones and it's I've been using it for the last year or so kind of brought it back into the arsenal of of guitars so it's, it definitely a special a special guitar I think I'm going to retire it after this tour just because uh, kind of, sentimental value to it what do you tune - um this is tuned drop down a whole step so which makes the low be an A and then the e a D and so on".

Este es el cuarto y último proceso de la guitarra UNIVERSE de Munky. En este proceso se ve claramente que le cambio el mástil ya que se le rompió otra vez, también se ve un gran cambio en el cuerpo ya que lo cubre con más cinta aislante, aquí lo único que queda original de la guitarra UNIVERSE es el cuerpo. Munky en la entrevista de PREMIER GUITAR habla sobre ella. Munky: “Se me ha roto varias veces el mástil ahora he tenido que reforzar el mástil”. Munky: “Desde que le cambie el mástil no he encontrado el sonido y el timbre que me gustaba de mi guitarra UNIVERSE". Munky: “No he comprado otra UNIVERSE porque encuentro que el primer lote de ellas se hicieron con más cuidado y dedicación y tienen un sonido característico, son muy distintas a las UNIVERSE de ahora”. Este proceso de la guitarra se usó en Vivo a fines del 98 hasta fines del 99 siendo en estos años guitarra secundaria excepto en Woodstock. Después a fines del 2012 hasta principios del 2015, siendo en estos años guitarra principal.Y despues en los siguientes años se ha usado con poca regularidad. Esta aquí los procesos de esta gran guitarra UNIVERSE de Munky. Les dejo con el Concierto de Korn en Woodstock donde en el minuto 32:16 se ve claramente la guitarra pero la usa durante todo el concierto. Sin duda esta guitarra es legendaria. Esta aquí todos los procesos por la cual paso esta UNIVERSE.

This is Munky’s current signature model made by Ibanez. He was seen using this guitar during their last tour and possibly even the recording of “The Nothing”.

The APEX30 is a seven-string solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2020. It is a signature model of American guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer, known for his work with the nu metal band Korn, and a part of Munky's APEX series. It is produced in Indonesia and replaced the APEX20.

Unlike previous Apex models which were based on the RG-bodied Universe series guitar which Shaffer used in the early days of Korn, the APEX30 uses an RGA series body.

The APEX30 has a maple top on a nyatoh body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with no inlays. Components include a pair of direct-mounted DiMarzio Blaze humbucking pickups, an Evertune bridge and Gotoh machine heads.

The K720th is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2020. It is a signature model of James "Munky" Shaffer of the American band Korn as the second guitar model in the K series and is a reissue of the original K7.

The K720th features a flamed maple top on an African mahogany body bolted to a maple and wenge neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with binding and special "K-7" inlay at the twelfth fret. Components include a pair of DiMarzio PAF-7 Humbucking pickups with a master volume and 3-way pickup selector, a Lo-Pro Edge tremolo with a special U-bar, Gotoh knobs and tuning machines and Dean Markley strings set to Munky's standard "A standard" tuning.

The K720th was produced only in 2020.

Esta fue la primera UNIVERSE de Munky, esta Guitarra paso por varios procesos ya que a Munky en varias entrevistas y en especial en la de PREMIER GUITAR en esta entrevista Munky dice que esta guitarra ha sido reparada 10 veces y lo único original de la guitarra es el cuerpo. In the YouTube video titled "KoRn Band Rehearsal #1 1996 Rare Footage" by kornmemorabilia, James Shaffer, known as "Munky," is seen using his Ibanez Universe UV70P-BK in Gray. This guitar underwent significant modifications, including a neck replacement after breaking twice, and the addition of white pickups and potentiometers. Munky also covered the entire body with electrical tape, marking this as the third iteration of the guitar. This version was primarily used as a secondary guitar during the "Life is Peachy" recording period and in performances from 1996 to early 1998. Munky mentions in a Premier Guitar interview that after the neck issues, the guitar lost its original tone, which led to its secondary status. The guitar is visible throughout the video, especially at the 10:41 mark.

In the 1997 live performance in Mesa, AZ, James Shaffer can be seen playing the Ibanez Universe UV7SBK. Notably, this guitar features black DiMarzio Blaze pickups and white fretboard dots, distinguishing it from the Ibanez UV7, which has green fretboard dots. This is Munky’s new signature guitar with Ibanez. It retains a lot of features that appeared on his previous signature guitars with Ibanez (passive DiMarzio pickups, Ibanez Edge tremolo system, 7 strings) as well as a few new features. It is also similar to Head’s signature guitar (the K7YANG), however has black hardware, an Ibanez Edge bridge, and a trans black finish as opposed to Head’s which has gold hardware, an Evertune bridge and a glossy white finish.
