Joe Duplantier spoke about Jean-Michel's choice of the TS7 on Reverb.com on July 17, 2017. https://reverb.com/news/inside-gojiras-touring-rig "He wanted to have a distorted bass sound when Gojira started and went through at least 20 bass overdrives and distortions, but nothing seemed to fit. He then experimented with a bunch of guitar pedals, and, sure enough, the classic TS7 ended up owning them all. Jean–Michel attacks the strings very hard, and a lot of the other pedals had too much compression. The TS7 signal is solid through and through. We have TS9s on the road with us as backups, but we still scour the internet for used TS7s."

  • « Now I am gonna use Darkglass vintage with a crunchy sound but not too much distorsion but still bring up low end that I’m gonna chain with a DCX Boost pedal from Origin Effect. It brings a compression and when the strings are getting tired during the show and the sound is getting muddier, this allows to open a bit more the high end to recover the original sound
