Oh yeah

Although similar to a ts9 this thing has a lot of 808 in her after I was through. The thing is pure buttery sustain...

jimmarchi1

god blew you if you can hear much difference between an 808, 9, 7 or even 5 in a blind taste test through a blasting blackface fender! I can hear more difference between different brands of preamp tubes.

Joe Duplantier spoke about Jean-Michel's choice of the TS7 on Reverb.com on July 17, 2017. https://reverb.com/news/inside-gojiras-touring-rig "He wanted to have a distorted bass sound when Gojira started and went through at least 20 bass overdrives and distortions, but nothing seemed to fit. He then experimented with a bunch of guitar pedals, and, sure enough, the classic TS7 ended up owning them all. Jean–Michel attacks the strings very hard, and a lot of the other pedals had too much compression. The TS7 signal is solid through and through. We have TS9s on the road with us as backups, but we still scour the internet for used TS7s."

In this July 14, 2017 interview, Jean-Michel describes his gear rundown, and later there is a more specific text chart of the entire signal chain. https://www.khdkelectronics.com/news/detail/jean-michel-labadie-of-gojira-on-his-tone-secrets/
