Jerry Dammers' Gear
In the BBC radio program "Soul Music - Ghost Town," at 12 minutes and 17 seconds, producer John Collins identifies the Powertran Transcendent 2000 as the source of the siren sounds used by Jerry Dammers in "Ghost Town."
Jerry Dammers is confirmed to have used a Vox Super Continental, specifically the UK-made Vox Continental II variant, during the early stages of his time with The Specials. This is evidenced by his appearance with the organ in the official music video for "A Message To You Rudy," where a clean Vox Continental II with a grey lid is prominently featured. Additionally, Dammers was seen playing a well-used, orange-topped version of this organ in televised performances throughout 1979, including the "Rock Goes to College" show, identifiable by the ska stickers and duct-taped Z-leg stand.
