If my cab mic’ing ever looks like the bootlegger section at a Grateful Dead concert it’s because I’m auditioning mics to find the best tool for the job. I usually pick 2 mics that complement each other well. Sometimes I’ll leave more than 2 up so I can do overdub parts with different mics than rhythm tracks. We got a cool old Altec mic recently that sounds interesting on guitars. I also tried a @rodemic M3 on guitar for the first time and it’s unexpectedly great!
