more“With the Orange AD200B, I find that no pedals are necessary with this beast; just simply experiment with your ratio of gain-to-master volume to get a wide variety of tonal options. When driven to full gain, this bass amp can deliver all the grit and sustain of the nastiest overdrive pedal, or dial the gain knob back to a more reserved setting for a creamy, vintage bass tone that will truly make your bass sing in any application. Along with its solid construction, the AD200B is a true workhorse—whether you plan to keep it as a secret weapon in your home studio or lug it on the road for years of hard touring, this amp will go above and beyond.”
more“The Orange AD200 gives me all the tone and weight I need to cut thru No Devotion’s wall of sound while still providing a massive bottom end.”

moreAn Important thing to take into consideration is that SUNN O))) is about low frequencies and warm tones and Orange Amps can offer just as much. Orange is known for their extremely warm and heavy tones and SUNN O))) and Stephen have been using these amps since the early 90's and sometimes can be spotted using them at their shows.
more"Being a three piece, my style of guitar playing has had to adapt to playing lead lines while also establishing chords, so I need an amp that can provide both clarity & response but also keep the sound thick and driven, again, Orange have been the only amps to really have this balance perfected."

more1:55 "For me, it was like, a lot of the sounds that I was trying to get are fuzzy and driven... and this, gives you a really great bass to build your effects on top of, and it always cuts through, its always chunky and its got that really smooth bass to layer your effects on"

moreWith four 6550 output valves pushing 200 Watts of power, the AD200B has a creamy, dynamic low-end with a focused mid-range. The rounded gain structure reveals a wide spectrum of vintage and modern tones, from mellow hues perfect for flatwound strings, through to heavy percussive grind. Whatever the situation, there is no shortage of punch, which is just one of the reasons why the AD200B has appeared on some of the world’s biggest stages.
moreTone is a bit dark but breaks in over time. The eq section is pretty mild but the tone and overdrive sound great, tons of harmonic richness; and handle pedal stacking like a champ. It's a bit fragile so I recommend staging it off your cab to ensure the longest life span. I re-tubed it with JJ's, going for KT88's over the stock 6550's and it's a fuller, smoother sound to me.
A total beast. Enough power to demolish any kind of stages, from small clubs to Arenas. Works amazing with any pedal I ever owned.
