Lone's Gear
In this article from October 2021, Lone (aka Matt Cutler) says, "Happy to say I'm still using FL Studio as the main brain of my studio all these years later."
Find it on:
"There are certain artists that you just click with immediately; When we first heard Lone’s lush, expansive take on dance music it was love at first listening." AIAIAI.
Lone is seen using the TMA-2 S02-H02-E02-C02 Headphones while performing at Baleapop 2014 in this video.
Uses a TR-8S here as the drum machine for Mixmag live set.
Using the Akai here as the main midi controller for Ableton.
Per this Musicradar interview dated Oct. 22, 2021, Lone (who mostly works in-the-box with software) states:
“I'm looking around now though and amidst the absolute mess that is my studio I can see an old Yamaha DX7, mainly used for the Rhodes preset for when I've been trying to capture that ‘80s movie / Spielbergian vibe in my tracks... [laughs]
...and there you have it. Don't buy a DX7 to sound like Lone. There are plenty of VST DX7 emulations out there, and some of theme are even free. I'm sure Lone would give the same advice.
Per this Oct. 22, 2021 interview for Musicradar, Lone states:
"Roland SH-01A, as I couldn't justify spending the money trying to get an original 101, but wanted to get those glorious lead sounds down.
