Luna Li's Gear
Luna Li for She Shreds in 2020: "I was looking for something new and saw this and recognized it from Tame Impala (they were one of my favorite bands in high school). I tried it out and immediately was like, this feels so great, the tone is awesome, and it’s really easy to play. So this has been my main guitar for five years now."
In a TikTok video by Luna Li, at the 0:29 mark, she is seen using the Boss SD-1 Super OverDrive pedal. The video, titled "Guitar pedal tour!! This is the rig I use for the live shows - all the essentials :)," confirms this as she guides viewers through her gear setup. She notes that coming from a classical background, the gear world was overwhelming initially, but highlights this pedal as easy to use and fun. Based on the pedal's appearance, it is evident that it is not the Waza version, as indicated by the missing white letters on the pedal switch and the absence of a mode switch. Luna Li also mentions using this pedal in her song "2516."
In the YouTube video titled "Luna Li - Full Performance (Live on KEXP)," Luna Li is seen using a Daisy Rock Butterfly Electric Guitar at the 6:58 mark during her performance of the song "Silver Into Rain." The distinctive shape and color of the guitar confirm its identity as the Daisy Rock Butterfly Electric Guitar. This performance was recorded at the KEXP studio on October 6, 2022, and is hosted by Troy Nelson.
In this YouTube video at the minute 00:04 we can see Luna li using a Fender P Bass Polar White. I can tell that is this model judging by the pickward slitghtly off white of the pickwards and the shape of the bass, this is later confirmated by the own video.
In a YouTube video titled "Fender PlayerSeries PBass JM LunaLi 16x9 60s" by Fender, Luna Li is seen playing a Polar White Fender Player Precision Bass at the 0:03 mark.
In the YouTube video titled "Fender PlayerSeries PBass JM LunaLi 16x9 60s" by Fender, Luna Li is seen playing a Candy Apple Red Fender Player Jazzmaster at the 0:05 mark.
