Michael Guy Chislett's Guitars

This blue Jazzmaster is Chislett's main guitar. He usually strings this guitar up with 11s, and the bridge of the guitar is not original- it comes from the Fender Mustang.

[Michael] It’s funny, because a lot of people will wonder why I have the different guitars. Even the guys we tour with will ask if we can’t just travel with one guitar, because it would be so much easier. It’s crazy, but they are so different, sonically. The White Falcon, it’s a hard guitar to play, but once you get used to it, it’s like driving a really old car. You have to be really careful, and you’re really going to hear it if you drive too fast around a corner. There’s something about that sound that I really like. I like it brighter. Some people think that they’re too harsh, and then too tubby if it’s on the neck pickup. But I feel like it’s the perfect range, especially if you’re doing riffs and stuff. It’s my “go to” for two-note or three-note riffs. And then something like the Telecaster is so even and clean and quite snappy sounding. It’s great for rhythm playing and it’s good for a lot of overdriven stuff, whereas the White Falcon doesn’t handle the overdriven stuff too well. - from worshipmusician.com

Michael began to use this guitar after his beloved 90’s White Falcon that he had been been using extensively for albums and touring was starting to need so much work that the repair tech even told him it was time to retire it or else it would be fully destroyed from touring. Michael reached out to Gretsch asking if they could replicate the guitar, so that he would have a guitar that played just like his beloved 90’s White Falcon, allowing him to tour with the same sound with less concern of tour damage. Gretsch partnered with him, and sent him numerous prototypes to review and evaluate, finally he decided on one and that specific one would become his signature White Falcon. Here is a video of him talking about it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SMCuBmIn7sU
