Natalia Lafourcade's Guitars
In this YouTube video of her 2016 performance at Austin City Limits, Natalia Lafourcade can be seen playing a Yamaha AEX 500N acoustic-electric nylon-string guitar with natural finish.
During her 2017 NPR Music Tiny Desk concert, Natalia Lafourcade can be seen playing a Guild acoustic guitar with all-mahogany finish around the 3:30 mark to perform her song “Mi Tierra Veracruzana.” This guitar appears to be a Guild M-20 late 1950s vintage model based on the script logo and open book headstock shape.
In a screengrab from an Instagram reel dated March 5, 2025, Natalia Lafourcade shares a B&W photo from the construction of her custom guitar. The reel tags Spanish luthier David Jimenez Rodriguez Guitars, based in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, near Cadiz, Spain. According to the luthier's website, David Jimenez Rodriguez crafts approximately 10 custom flamenco guitars by hand each year, using woods such as palo santo (lignum vitae) and cypress.

Natalia Lafourcade is seen playing a Gretsch G6128T-GH George Harrison Signature Duo Jet with Bigsby around the 11:40 mark in a behind-the-scenes documentary about the recording of her 2015 album Hasta la Raíz at Sonic Ranch studio. The model can be identified by the artist signature seen on the truss rod cover of the headstock, two single-coil DynaSonic pickups, as well as the black tremolo arm pivot bolt.

Natalia Lafourcade is seen playing a Telecaster-style baritone electric guitar around the 14:21 mark in a behind-the-scenes documentary about the recording of her 2015 album Hasta la Raíz at Sonic Ranch studio.
The model seen here features two “lipstick” style pickups similar to a Danelectro guitar, an extended baritone scale length for the neck, as well as a 3x3 tuner arrangement on the headstock. The shape of the headstock is similar to Danelectro’s “Coke bottle” headstocks except for the flattened top and Fender logo, which appears inconsistent with Fender’s more common 6 in-line tuners and trademark headstock shape. The bold all-capital stylizing of the Telecaster logo appears consistent with 1968-80s CBS era branding.
The album credits for Hasta La Raíz list a baritone guitar played by Natalia on the track “Para Que Sufrir.”
