Neil Finn's Gear
Apart from the Chamberlain and an Emulator 2, other keyboards featured on Woodface include a Mellotron, a Baldwin Electronic harpsichord, an old Cox organ, a Hammond, a Prophet 5, and a Piano Optigan, "a very trashy organ brought out in the '60s which reads a kind of optical disk. It sounds very low-fi but is very atmospheric. There are what you could call 'samples' on them of things like brass bands playing. It's pretty wild."
...a Bondi Effects SICK AS over drive, a Boss DD-3 delay, an Electro Harmonix Freeze pedal and then two of amazing new Echo Fix Australia analogue tape delay machines, which can be controlled by pedals at Neil’s feet.
I was watching an old Top Of The Pops episode on BBC4. Crowded House were introduced to play DISTANT SUN, and then I saw Neil Finn playing this Danelectro 12 string that I had never seen before. I stumbled on Equipboard, while looking for the guitar, so I figured I'd add it when I found it, seeing as it wasn't here already. Edit: Because he wasn't playing live on TOTP (very few acts did), I searched for a clip of him playing the Bellzouki in concert. You can see him playing it at around the 46 minute mark of this gig...
Neil Finn is confirmed to use the Magnatone Stereo Twilighter, as it was seen during the Gravity Stairs tour in 2024. Additionally, this amplifier was shown and explained in detail during a 2022 gear rig tour by That Pedal Show on YouTube, where Neil Finn's equipment was thoroughly examined. Discussion of the Magnatone Stereo Twilighter starts around 12 minutes into the video.
