In this Fender interview with the Cribs, brothers Ryan and Gary Jarman talk about some of the Fender guitars the use and love:

Ryan: “I use a pawnshop Mustang, exactly like this actually, Lake Placid Blue, I have the Pawn Shop Mustang and the Venus are the two guitars that I use mainly. When The Cribs first started I use to use vintage Mustangs, 70s ones. Because of the amount of touring we do…”

Gary: “We’re pretty hard on our guitars, so we’ve stopped taking vintage stuff out. So it was really cool, Ryan got the Pawn Shop Mustang, it became like a workhorse guitar…”

Ryan: “If there’s one thing I can say about this guitar is that it’s super reliable, really hard wiring.”

In this photo, Ryan Jarman can be seen playing live with his Gibson ES-335 electric guitar. In an interview with Gibson, when asked if he used any Gibsons on The Cribs' album Ignore The Ignorant, Ryan answers:

"Yeah I used my ES-335s a lot on the new record. The reason why I started playing them in the first place was Alex [Kapranos] from Franz Ferdinand had one and I used it in the studio and just loved the sound of it. I know it may look a bit weird in our band because it’s not the kind of guitar you’d expect us to play, but the thing that I really like about the semi-acoustic is that, since I like to have a lot of gain on my amp, the guitar is always on the verge of feeding back. I think it adds a lot of tension to the sound, which is something that I love."

Ryan Jarman's Squier FSR Ryan Jarman Signature Guitar is inspired by his favorite offset models, drawing from the Fender Mustang and Jaguar designs. This guitar is comparable to Kurt Cobain's Fender Jag-Stang but offers unique features: a Duncan Designed single-coil Jaguar® neck pickup, a humbucking bridge pickup, master volume and tone controls, phase and on/off switches for each pickup, and a toggle killswitch. It also features a vintage-style Jazzmaster bridge, large ‘60s-style headstock, and metal control plate for both aesthetic appeal and practical use. The attached photo from a live performance captures Jarman playing this signature model, highlighting its role in his setup.

Ryan Jarman utilized a Fender Kurt Cobain Signature Jaguar in 3-Color Sunburst while recording The Cribs' fifth album, "In the Belly of the Brazen Bull." He modified the guitar by replacing the original pickups with DiMarzio pickups to achieve a more powerful sound. However, he seldom used this guitar during live performances.
