Terry Sylvester's Gear
In Terry's start with The Hollies in 1969, in a tweet he put out, he purchased his gear at a local music shop at Carnaby Street. And druing TV Performances, especially Sorry Suzanne, Terry is seen with a Gibson J-160E Acoustic Guitar, similar to Lennon and Harrisons. Terry would use this guitar extensively from 1969-1970s, he would then move electric.
In the video, you can see Terry's choice of electric guitar, which is a Fender Telecaster. Terry switched into an electric route with his Telecaster after the J-160E Acoustic. Terry would then use the guitar in multiple shows and recordings. It is unknown whether or not he still has his Telecaster.

In the RickResource website, there is a section for a local band called The Escorts, where Terry Sylvester was first a part of. In this picture above, it shows the band itself posing with their instruments, with Sylvester holding a Rickenbacker Model 1997 in Fireglo, according to the website. We do not know the whereabouts of this guitar, as it would not appear during Sylvester's time with The Hollies, so it is assumed it is either stored, or sold/traded.
In this picture from Getty Images, shows The Hollies during a recording session, what is quite out of the blue is Sylvester on the far right holding a Gibson ES-335 12 string guitar. The ES-335 would have their own share of 12 string designs, and seen here with Sylvester holding it. It is unknown if this guitar was present in any recording or live shows, and it is probably only used as a prop for this photo.
In this photo by Getty Images, The Hollies (Tony, Allan, and Terry) can be seen performing on television, most likely He Ain't Heavy - judging from Tony on Bass. In this picture, we can see that Sylvester is playing a Gibson ES-335 in a sunburst color. This guitar would most likely be Tony's and Terry would occasionally borrow Tony's guitar during performances where Tony would be on bass, since Sylvester did not own a 335 (speculated). But it is present within this performance.
In the TOTP promo performance of Hey Willy, Terry Sylvester can be seen on the far right playing a Fender Precision Bass. This Fender Precision is actually owned by the group's bassist, Bernie Calvert, but would be given to other players in the band (either Tony or Terry), if Bernie needs to be on piano. In the case of Hey Willy, the bass is given to Terry because as mentioned, Bernie needs to be on piano, but Tony needs to be on lead guitar as there is a solo in the song. The same case can be seen in the video for Hello To Romance, where Terry plays somewhat the same bass except in the Hello To Romance video, it is in Tobacco Burst, while here it is in Sunburst.
In this video of the Hollies performing "The Air That I Breathe", Terry is seen with the Martin D-28 Sunburst Guitar.
