Toy Caldwell is seen playing a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Standard in a poster by Daniel Larsen, featured on Fine Art America. Notably, Toy modified his Les Paul by replacing the original uncovered humbuckers with PAF pickups, as the originals frequently fell off.

In this excerpt from a 1976 issue of Guitar Player magazine, he describes using two twins that “are about 5 years old”. Rehoused into new head casings, and powering two marshall cabinets with four K120 JBL speakers in each. The two are linked by a Y chord. So they were likely mid 1971 models.
