William DuVall's Guitar Amplifier Cabinets

I’m running cabs. Metropoulos used to make these cabinets that were replicas of the '68 4x12s that Marshall used to do back when they were more heavy duty. The joints were more solid and the birch that they used was great. everything was thicker and heavier duty and I think the cab dimensions were even a little bit bigger back then. So all the guys who were using stacks back then, like Hendrix, not the extra tall cabinets though - those are really cool in their own way - I’m just talking about the standard 4x12s that were made in '67 and '68, George made exact replicas of those. He did kind of an obsessive reverse engineering thing like Stephens Design did on the pickups and he built these things. He had the '67 ones that had the pinstripe grill cloth, he had [EC Collins] do the grills for those. Then the '68 ones had the basket weave and I got a couple of those '68 ones and god those are good cabinets.
