About his main guitar, a Larrivée OM-1, Watson said in an Instagram post from 2017: "No it's not a pre-war Martin and I don't even think it was made by just one person but this guitar has been the perfect companion. Dry, punchy and a well rounded sound perfectly suited for those old timey bass runs. It's been with me nearly half my life and I don't think I'll ever play another. So glad to finally meet Mr. John Larrivee who's father started the company in the 70's. He was happy to see how beat up the OM-1 is and we talked about a signature WW model!"
