Wow. I'm shocked that little s#t "music producer" has a $15.8 million house. Who the *** has paid him so much? Is T-Bone Burnett his alter ego?

I'll bet he licenses a lot of stuff to commercials, movies and tv shows. That's the frickin' cash man... I miss having a publishing/licensing deal.

His booking fees are $150-$200k+ per show and he does a lot of shows. A quick search on Google shows he made $28MM in 2014.

Is there supposed to be two Dave Grohls? 1 and 2

There should really only be one Dave Grohl. He was one of the first artists added to the site, and was added as a drummer and a guitarist before we had the level of categorization that we have now. We'll eventually merge the two pages.

thanks for the reply :) I read the article about the audio interfaces so i was between those 2. So if i save some money with the focustrite, should i buy the launchkey mk2? Or it doesn't worth it? I leave in a small apartment, and rp5 are smaller and a little 'quieter' than the rp6, so they come in handy.

Considering the differences between the mk1 and mk2 versions, I would personally go with the mk2.

For midi keyboard i'm between M-Audio Oxygen 49 MK4 and Novation Launchkey 49 (mk2 is a bit more expensive than mk1, about 180 on thomman) which are about at the same price (140 euro in an online store here). Both are great with Ableton, 49 keys etc. the diffirences i saw (really new to that), Novation has more launchpads and comes with more software. Any opinions? I know to play piano if that helps :p

I have a personal preference for Novation when compared to M-Audio. Better experiences with their products in the past.

now for audio interface i'm between Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 , second is a little more expensive. Any thoughts?

Definitely the Focusrite. For the price, there's nothing better IMO.

For speakers i liked 2x KRK rp5, many choose them

KRK make solid monitors. If you're in a small space, those will serve you well.

Is that only for the individual submission or for all of them?

In that particular case, I reviewed all of that person's submissions and they were all without legitimate sources. I deleted them all.

Yes. They're acceptable.

2) Does the gear have to be reviewed in order to count as a submission? [some of my added gear have "needs review"]

No. Our review system hasn't been introduced yet, so all new submissions will show "needs review".

As long as your submission shows acceptable proof of the artist using the item you're adding to their Equipboard, you're good.

Okay I've been holding it in for a while but what the hell is this site coming to?

Shit submissions and duplicate items or items that make no sense at all like "imac" or "logic" or even submitting the artiste's HAIRCUT

I love this site and I appreciate the work that some people put into it and it really makes me mad to see retarded submissions and sometimes some mods approve them...

It makes us upset to see this kind of thing as well. We're working on getting quality rating features added, so the community can quickly flag/remove these types of submissions.

I looked for haircut btw and couldn't find it. Can you provide a link to that? I'll remove it.

i made 56 submissions and made two new artists

56 subs is awesome! Maybe I'll post some submission stats, like average number of submissions per person this month, so people have an idea of the competition they're up against. :)

I took a quick glance at your subs, and have a couple of recommendations for improvement:

1. Capitalize first word, product names, and artist name
2. Avoid pronouns and use the artist's name instead. Example: "Deadmau5 uses Ableton Live in this photo" vs. "he uses ableton live".

I searched that FB post and could find where they mentioned using that. Ideally, a source will show someone proof of the artist using something, without them having to dig further for the evidence. Hope that's helpful!

The first name we drew for week 1 was disqualified for making a submission of something the artist didn't actually use.

Make sure your submissions are legitimate. If you submit something that's already on the artist's Equipboard, something they don't actually use, or don't provide a verifiable source, your submission will be disqualified.

Yes. Every submission you make in September gets you an entry. The more you submit, the greater your chances of winning. urbancohor (week 1 winner) made 44 submissions.

I've corrected the category on that.

How about adding a few features, like separators for each kind of equipment you have on your EquipBoard?

For example:

Studio furniture and acoustics: "insert here"

Hardware gear: "Insert here"

Software: "Insert here"

I find that very useful if you for example have added loads of stuff on your board, lets say mostly software plugins etc, then suddenly some studio furniture appears on top of your board and you have to move it down manually. I usually put those items in the "i want" list, then back on the "i have" list since that'll bring it all the way down on my board list faster.

It's kinda annoying xD

We do plan on making the gear on member Equipboards fall into categories like they do on artist pages. I don't have an ETA on that as of yet, but it's something we'll do.

It's not the "best submission", it's a random drawing from all qualified submissions. If you submit something that's inaccurate, or submit something to an artist that's already been submitted to their Equipboard, your submission will not qualify.

Right Hand and similar "items" were submitted by members, in good fun, to their own Equipboards. These "items" are now starting to show up as submissions to artist Equipboards.

We'll be removing these "items" from the database and deleting any related submissions. The intent of Equipboard is to catalog the items artists use, not their body parts. Other items that aren't actual products will also be subject to removal.

How do you know when you have won

We’ll (Equipboard) pick a winner at random on Wednesday, September 8th and each following Wednesday in the month. We'll contact the the winner via email, and they must respond to our email within 48 hours of being contacted, or another winner will be selected.

Once we've confirmed a winner, we'll let Image-Line know who they are. We'll then make a public announcement of who won (only their Equipboard username will be shared) for the week.

I asked a friend of mine who's a drummer. He said he just picked up a used Ludwig Accent Combo 5-piece w/ Zildjian cymbals, for his son, for around that price. You could probably play with a new set at your local music shop to see if you like the quality first.

why? what if you have a the same gadget they put. it says "Item has errors: Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus is already on Skrillex's Equipboard" I thought its a matter of selections of name not on the same gadget they put the one who submitted it.

Not sure I understand your question.

If you tried to submit "Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus" to Skrillex's Equipboard, you should get an error since someone has already submitted that.

Yes. Each item you submitted to a newly added artist would count.

Some of the photos on here are sub-par. I totally get that some gear is crazy-hard to find and I don't have a major problem with that. I suggest adding the ability to edit gear submissions. Has this been discussed yet?
