delete Giacomo Bucci

This is what you're looking for:

http://equipboard.com/pros/new/terms

Based on the current guidelines, I don't think that artist meets the requirements for a "pro" page. Unless there's something I'm missing.

This needs an app or something

I'm not sure messaging is the answer to pages that need deletion. I think providing a way to propose a page be deleted, that can then be reviewed and approved/denied by the community, might be a better way of doing that. That way I don't become a bottleneck to things getting done.

Am I SIMS? :)

We definitely need a way to message each other. I'll bring it up with the rest of the team and see where it fits in with all the other things we want/need to build.

Arturia BeatStep Pro

I've had serious gear lust for this thing ever since it was announced at NAMM. It seems the ship date keeps getting pushed back, though there have been live demos of it at some boutique shops around the world.

Anyone else GASing for this sequencer?

HELP! :p

What's your actual budget? Are you strictly limiting your search to Pioneer DJ Controllers? Native Instruments makes great controllers as well, the difference being one is designed for use with Serato and the other Traktor. I've used both and don't think one is necessarily better than the other.

Also, you might get more responses if you put what you need help with in the subject. ;-)

YouTube Icon on my Equipboard?

I see the problem. It looks like the form expects /user/... not /channel/...

I've added this as a bug to our backlog. We'll get it fixed.

What Is your favorite band?

I like Spoon, The 1975, Tycho (Live, they are a band it would appear.)

Tycho is really great live, both visually and aurally. I've only seen Tycho live when it was just Scott. I think it's just within the past few years that he's made Tycho more of a band than a solo act. Either way, love the music Tycho is making.

Starting out w/Old School Gear with New school gear

I'd look into the Akai APC 40 and Ableton Live. You could use both for music production and DJing.

The APC can be found for around $100 used, and you can get a demo version of Ableton for free before deciding if it's right for you.

What Is your favorite band?

Too difficult for me to narrow it down to a single band/artist. Some of my favorites:

Boards of Canada

Aphex Twin

Autechre

Led Zeppelin

Radiohead

The Cure

Alton Ellis

Johnny Cash

Primus

DJ Shadow

What should i buy ?

what should i invest in if i want modular sound ?

Looking at the want list on your Equipboard, it appears as though you're interested in going down the path of building a eurorack format modular synth.

The first thing you'll need if building a modular is a case and power. There are a lot of options ranging from total DIY, partial DIY, to a variety of cases at a wide range of price points that can come ready to go with power already installed.

The TipTop Audio HEK is a popular starting point for a lot of people. It's relatively inexpensive and comes with everything you need to get started.

Beyond the essentials of a case and power, what you should get depends largely on what you want to do with your system. Are you interested in building a standalone voice, something for effects processing, a system to integrate with your current setup, or something else? Knowing what you want to do is key to suggesting modules you might want to consider.

If you haven't found this article yet, I highly recommend reading Modular Synthesis 101: The Basics. And Muffwiggler is another great resource for modular synths.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.

Are you looking for recommendations on DJ controllers (like the S8), or USB/MIDI controllers for music production? What gear do you already have?

Which Midi Keyboard Is This!?

That's an older version of the M-Audio Oxygen 49.

We now have BANDS! Post questions/concerns/corrections here

I don't know if all concerns go here, but I noticed that when we get a reply, even if its from a Mod in regards to a submission, the notifications doesn't show an alert. I think any communication a moderator or above sends you just be flagged as an alert.

Great idea. I'll add it to our project backlog.

Greetings from Ireland

I only noticed this website today (10/06/15) and I have shared it to my Music Producer friends and forums!

It really helps people get that feel that they are who they admire, if they get their equipment

Big Ups for the creator!

Welcome, and thanks for sharing Equipboard with your friends!

How does one delete an item from thier collection?

Thanks! I'm loving the TR-8. I just wish it had gate out, but that's not a deal breaker.

I really wanted an MB-808 but I ended up getting my deposit back. I still drool over this build from time to time:

How does one delete an item from thier collection?

If you've found the same item with slightly different names, but they are in fact the same thing, I'd request them to merged here: http://equipboard.com/duplicate_items/new

Once they're merged, the one that's kept will show on your Equipboard.

starting some new features?

Hey, thanks for the feature suggestions!

Does the first idea require a sub-forum, or could that be accomplished with a thread in the current forum? I'm a little hesitant to start creating sub-forums before we have a lot of activity in this one. I like the idea though.

Is this request similar to what you're interested in with the second idea?

Just wanted to say hi- Nice site!

Hi Peter, welcome to Equipboard!

What kind of tinkering do you do? I've been building synth modules myself. I wish I could say I'm a developing guitarist, alas, I can only say I own a guitar.

Also, out of curiosity, what was the Google alert you had set?

Something that is wrong and it needs to be fixed

IMPORTANT : VIA EMAIL, Peter Holmström asked me to change his surname. It's Holstrom instead.

Just to be clear, should his name be changed to: Peter Holmström ?

11yabout 11 years ago

Something that is wrong and it needs to be fixed

So, I've made this thread in order for you all to find things that aren't correct on this site. Sort of like, submissions, which could help here.

Thanks!

One thing that really bothered me was adding guitar speakers under effects. Those aren't effects, we could just simply write down under "Speakers".

Can you share an example? Guitar amps should go under this path:

Musical Instruments -> Instrument Accessories -> Guitar & Bass Accessories -> Amplifiers

Also, a lot of guitars, amps and pedals don't even have sources or have sources which aren't so valid as they should be. Example is Jack White's Gibson J-160E or Gretsch G6128TCG. http://equipboard.com/pros/jack-white

Yeah, that's a problem. A lot of those submissions were from very early days, some of them admittedly added by us. I think we need to either find sources for those and add them, or delete them if sources can't be found.

Also, fan sites can be, but don't necessarily have to be incorrect source, a lot of effects, guitars and amps have proof, but are denied just because are fan sites. I did that with Radiohead and Led Zeppelin, and those are correct sites, but get denied just because someone who loves those 2 bands explored it and gave it online is a fan.

Fan sites are only unacceptable when they don't show clear proof of an artist using something. An example would be a site that simply lists a bunch of gear used by an artist, without showing anything else that clearly substantiates the gear was used by them. If the fan site shows pictures of someone playing a guitar, that picture could be used as the source and the fan site could be acknowledged in the submission notes.

If a submission is denied and you think it shouldn't have been, post it in the forum and lets start a dialog on why it should or shouldn't be denied.

I've been also looking for Jack White's equipboard, and it is correct, but one thing bothered me. Someone added this :

http://equipboard.com/pros/jack-white/gretsch-g5445t-electromatic-double-jet-w-bigsby-electric-guitar

And classified it as "customized", that is just Parsons Triple Jet, which was already submitted onto the Equipboard.

I've deleted that one.

Some items are just classified under wrong artist, here is example with this Moog Model IIIP.

http://equipboard.com/pros/george-harrison/moog-model-iiip

It should go under Paul McCartney's property.

We'll get that moved over to Paul's Equipboard.

No need to caps, also, someone should correct all this stuff writen with all capital or all small letters. (do you call those small here?)

http://equipboard.com/items/boss-gt-6-multi-effects-guitar-effects-processor

Just write down here everything you think it's just...wrong.

I've merged that with another submission for the same item. http://equipboard.com/items/boss-gt-6

Also, Groundguitar is not a real source.

I'd open this up for discussion in its own thread as well. In my opinion (I'm not a guitarist), it should probably be treated the same as a fan site. It looks like there are some accurate claims on the site, but those tend to reference other sources that should be used instead.

I agree, it would be a cool feature. I think it's a bit of a large project for our team size at the moment, considering all of the other jobs to be done, but I can definitely see us doing something like that in the future.

11yabout 11 years ago

Will duplicate gear submissions be consolidated?

It's not yet. We only shared it in the merge duplicates thread, to work out any kinks with those who are most active with merge requests, before making it discoverable.

11yabout 11 years ago

New Features

Thanks for the suggestions!

We do plan on making it possible to add item descriptions and other attributes to gear.

The other ideas are interesting, but might need further discussion from the community to flesh out how they might work on Equipboard.

How can I claim a submission made before creating my account?

2 more days ... I'll be listening! :)

You're welcome.

11yabout 11 years ago

Why doesn't one receive any credit for adding gear?

We do attribute gear submissions to the contributor on the item page. We don't give Gear IQ for submitting items, but we certainly should. And it's something I believe we can do retroactively. I'll look into making that happen.

Adding the ability to edit gear submissions is something we plan on adding. We'd also like to expand on the information that can be added to a gear submission. And giving you a way to see what you've submitted is clearly something we should do as well.

Thanks for raising these issues. It means a lot!

11yabout 11 years ago

Will duplicate gear submissions be consolidated?

Just last week we created a tool to report duplicate items. Here's the link. It's really basic, but hopefully an improvement over how we were handling reporting of duplicates before.

I'm reviewing and merging the duplicates for now. Unfortunately, the reporter doesn't get feedback on the actions taken yet. We still need to build that.

Most of the duplicates came about because the item submission form didn't warn a contributor that they might be submitting something that was already on Equipboard. We updated the form a few weeks ago, and while it hasn't completely eradicated new duplicates, it has significantly decreased them.

We do need a way of grouping variations of the same product together.

11yabout 11 years ago

How long is the moderation queue?

I think visibility on the queue is a great idea. I'll see what we can do to make that happen.

To answer your question, there are currently 946 submissions in the queue. We're getting about 650 submissions per week and moderating 450 per week. Clearly, we need to increase the rate at which we moderate. We're working on that.

Reviews shouldn't require a body

Interesting. I find myself not wanting to write a summary of what I write in the body, as my reviews tend to be on the short side and a summary isn't really necessary. Maybe we're saying the same thing though? Perhaps there should just be a single field to write your review, be it a somewhat shorter Bit wobbly but haven't had any accidents yet review or a lengthy essay?

While on the subject, what are your thoughts on a minimum character count for reviews? We've recently considered making the minimum requirement 40 characters, after seeing a compressor review that said "for compressing". I'm not sure a review like that is useful to anyone.

Your monitor stand review would meet that somewhat arbitrary 40 character limit, and it's actually a helpful review if I were considering the monitor stand and was concerned about wobble.

How can I claim a submission made before creating my account?

Thanks for confirming! The guest submission is now attributed to you. You can see it on the pending tab on Jody Wisternoff's Equipboard.

As an aside, I've been a fan of Jody's since the early 90's and still have his first record: X-Psych-Ting. Great to see his gear getting added to Equipboard. :)
