amazing

this is one of the greatest things ive bought for the studio. works like a charm. I love it so much.

ugh

Like many others, I saw madeon's 'pop culture' in high school and said 'i wanna do that'. Didn't get a lot of use out of it, but now it's seeing new life in tandem with ableton rewired into pro tools to sync my synths and trigger clips.

not great

Wow why did I do this. I'm a pro tools user and this does not play well with pro tools.

My old dogs

My father bought me these when I was finishing highschool, on our way home after I received a diploma from the national guild audition. I loved them to death and have used them to hell and back. They have completely fallen apart and I really need to get new headphones.

blessed

Probably my favorite monitors without spending over a grand on your monitor pair.

sonnivate

why

I'm not sure why I wanted a sequencer limited to 16 steps. Always a hassle setting up with pro tools. Right now what I'm mainly using this for is just to sync parameters of the ms20 with pro tools.

you wanted it for the control voltages.... I don't use mine for notation, just voltages to patch points on my Pittsburgh modular.

Perhaps these are better used in a DAW-less environment? That is how I use my 5 SQ1's- they are also great for live DAW-less use.

20-26 dB of gain

A must have for anyone with a dynamic, ribbon, or tube mic.

Junk

I got this when I first started recording back in high school. Preamps suck. Converters suck. Unit is suck. I only use this as an extra soundcard, IE as my interface for Discord.

Perfect IF you're running thunderbolt

Great preamps. Great plugins. Expandable. Fantastic. I love this unit.

Secret to my tone

This is the secret weapon of my arsenal. In addition to reamping guitar takes, I use this to run all sorts of sound through my guitar pedals. They offer a unique characteristic you just won't get out of plugins.

YES. YES. YES.

This was a game changer. This is a 100% ESSENTIAL MUST HAVE if you are recording guitars!!!!

It works

I got this back when I was still using the mobilepre. I sometimes use it with the vocoder, but lately the most action its seeing is to boost my guitar before plugging it into the ESP on my korg.

well,

What I'm mainly using this for now is my piano. I'll have this mic'd up right where the hammer hits the strings, my m160 close pointed at the strings, and the ntk pulled back in the middle of the room. Full great tone.

First mic

This was my first microphone and honestly I never use it anymore. Dont get me wrong it's a solid mic and a must have for any gigging artist but I don't get much use out of mine.

not a 57

I made a last minute decision to get this instead of an sm57. I like having a hypercardioid tbh. Good solid pickup, always use it on my cab.

I'm in love

My newest microphone and my first ribbon. I adore it and this has become an everyman utility mic. Sounds great on my cab, piano, and yes, even my vocals! Blend it with something else for the "real full super natural tone"

cool for the money

My first "serious" mic, i got a lot of warm fuzzies for it. I did however mess up the stock tube, but swapping it for a telefunken was quick, cheap, and easy. Also it made it sound even better. Use it mainly as a primary vocal mic and room mic for guitar/piano.

mj

This is my go-to streaming mic and my go-to "double". One take with the tube, one with the 7b. Sounds great. You know it, you love it babey!

domo arigato mister roboto

I actually do a lot more flat harmonizing than vocoding. I do achieve that with this pedal, but I still vocode a bit.

More Bounce

Talkboxes. Beloved by funky dudes, daft robots, and horse aficionados. Needs a real good carrier and takes a while to get used to.
