cool for the money
My first "serious" mic, i got a lot of warm fuzzies for it. I did however mess up the stock tube, but swapping it for a telefunken was quick, cheap, and easy. Also it made it sound even better. Use it mainly as a primary vocal mic and room mic for guitar/piano.

It's warm
It's warm and nice. Definitely required oomph from the preamp in a way other mics do not. I'm pretty satisfied with this mic but I will admit it took me a long time to really understand how to use it most effectively, and what preamps to pair it with.

CLEAN DYNAMIC VOCALS - STUDIO QUALITY AT A GREAT PRICE
This microphone by Rode is a fierce competitor in the studio when it comes to quality. When you can't afford a Sony C800, a Nuemann, a Telefunken or a Sennheiser... this is your best choice. This mic was built with professionalism in mind with its large-diaphragm tube condenser, handling growling lows and glass shattering highs. The only downside is that it's so sensitive you can hear a fly fart. Make sure to record in a soundproof space and you won't be disappointed!
