Stock tube sounds good. I purchased and am using a dying AT7 tube (tried quite a few other A7 tubes) and now I have a decayed electronic fuzz monster. Guessing you could go tube roll crazy for that special sound you are craving.
An excellent and actual TUBE pedal for under $50
Very Killer yet a bit too shrill, although many amp mods out there. I have the tremololess version. Hope to be getting together with my amp man in the future and I’m pretty sure it will be 5 star after a super minor tweak. One of many Gibson quality built Handwired Beauties from the 60’s. Dump in a good speaker and it’s an easy Grab and go jam amp.
Purchased used, so not sure if and what mods were done to it, but it is a loud amp that sounds really really good. Like “$1500 solid built handwired vintage amp” good. No tone knob, is a tiny bit trebly, but I just roll back my guitar knobs and am good to go. 80’s punk overdrive on my Scout when pushed loudly, roll back the guitar volume knob and great cleans. Tremolo and reverb are top notch too. Someone put an Eminence Patriot in there and it works well. Love my scout, I am a budget friendly vintage tube amp collector and it is easily one of my best amps. 5-1/2 Stars. Every musician friend with taste that has heared it is impressed.
