About
KXM is a dynamic rock trio that emerged in 2013, bringing together the talents of dUg Pinnick (vocals, bass) from King's X, George Lynch (guitar) from Lynch Mob and Dokken, and Ray Luzier (drums) from Korn. Known for their unique blend of hard rock, post-grunge, and alternative metal, KXM delivers a sound that is both powerful and adventurous, appealing to fans of their respective bands while carving out new sonic territory. Their music is characterized by a bluesy, driving rock energy infused with progressive elements, resulting from their initial jam sessions that led to their eponymous debut album.
How to Sound Like KXM
KXM's sound is a fusion of heavy, intricate guitar riffs and pounding, rhythmic drumming, balanced by soulful bass lines and dynamic vocal performances. George Lynch's guitar work often incorporates the use of ESP Kamikaze 1 guitars and various distortion and overdrive pedals, such as the Boss DS-1 Distortion and the Cusack Screamer Fuzz Pedal, to create a rich, textured sound that oscillates between aggressive and melodic. Ray Luzier's drumming, supported by the Pearl Reference Series drum set, provides a robust and versatile backbone, while dUg Pinnick's bass, like the Schecter Model T, delivers a deep, resonant tone that complements the group's expansive range. The result is a sound that is both polished and raw, inviting listeners into an immersive rock experience.
