Los Prisioneros is a seminal Chilean rock band, originally formed in the early 1980s by Jorge González (vocals, bass), Claudio Narea (guitar), and Miguel Tapia (drums). Known for their influential role in the Latin American rock movement, Los Prisioneros' music blends elements of rock, pop, new wave, and Latin rock, often infused with a socially conscious message reflective of their experiences in Chile. The band became a voice for the youth during a time of political upheaval, and their albums such as Pateando Piedras and La Cultura de la Basura remain iconic in the Latin rock genre.
