Los Tres Members, Gear & Sound

Los Tres is a Chilean rock band celebrated for their fusion of rock en español, folk, and Latin rock, deeply rooted in the cultural tapestry of Chile. Originating in the late 1980s, the band was formed in Concepción by Álvaro Henríquez (vocals, guitar), Roberto Lindl (bass), and Pancho Molina (drums). Later joined by Ángel Parra (lead guitar), Los Tres became a pivotal force in the Chilean rock scene. Their ability to seamlessly blend traditional Latin elements with rock influences has earned them a lasting legacy, marked by albums such as Los Tres and La Espada y la Pared.

The sound of Los Tres is characterized by its rich, melodic depth and rhythmic complexity, often combining clean, resonant guitar lines with vibrant, rhythmic bass and dynamic drumming. Henríquez's use of the Gretsch G6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman and Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp contributes to their distinctive, warm tone, blending the clarity of rock with the earthy resonance of folk. The semi-hollowbody guitars employed by Henríquez also allow for a full-bodied, resonant sound, while Parra's use of the Gibson L7-C enhances the band's textural richness. Together, these elements create a sound that is both energetic and contemplative, bridging the gap between traditional Latin rhythms and modern rock sensibilities.
