About
Pettinellis is a dynamic Latin rock band from Chile, spearheaded by the renowned musician Álvaro Henríquez. Originally formed during a hiatus of Henríquez's other famous band, Los Tres, Pettinellis includes Leo Saavedra (keyboards), Pablo Freire (bass), and Boris Ramírez (drums). Known for their vibrant and eclectic sound, Pettinellis blends traditional rock with Latin influences, creating a unique musical tapestry that has resonated with audiences across Latin America. Their self-titled album, featuring hits like "Hospital" and "Niña," showcases their ability to infuse rock with a distinctly Chilean flair.
How to Sound Like Pettinellis
Pettinellis' sound is characterized by its rich, melodic guitar lines and energetic rhythms, which are both powerful and danceable. The warm, resonant tones of Henríquez's preferred guitars, such as the Gretsch G6120SSLVO Brian Setzer Nashville, add a distinctive, vintage rockabilly touch to their music. The use of the Vox AC30 amplifier further enhances this retro vibe, delivering a crisp, jangly sound that complements their rhythmic drive. Keyboardist Leo Saavedra’s use of the Farfisa Matador organ injects a psychedelic element, enhancing the band's dynamic range and adding layers of texture and depth to their compositions.
