About
Skin Yard was a pivotal yet often overlooked band from Seattle, formed in 1985 during the nascent grunge era. Known for their heavy and psychedelic sound, the group originally comprised Jack Endino (guitar), Daniel House (bass), Ben McMillan (vocals), and Matt Cameron (drums). Although Matt Cameron departed early on to join Soundgarden, Skin Yard continued to evolve with other drummers like Steve Wied and Greg Gilmore. Their music, which spans genres like alternative rock, grunge, and stoner rock, stands as a testament to the experimental and raw energy of the Seattle scene, even if they never achieved mainstream success.
