fast, cutting, and trashy

I loved this cymbal. In our song 100 Foxes, this is the cymbal that creates that big bright sound when the full band comes in. The only downside, is this cymbal is not durable. I hit my cymbals hard but I hit them right. I have had cymbals for yeeeeeears. But this guy cracked in a year.

bradrummer

cutting but warm, quick, and gentle

I use this mostly just in the studio because it is such a small cymbal. No complaints. Does what it is supposed to

bradrummer

dark but precise and cutting

I use this mainly at my home studio, I can use it for any genre really. Very versatile. The bell is honestly my favorite bell from any of the cymbals that I own.

bradrummer

sounds like psssss

I would explain this cymbal having the perfect hiss sound. I used this in a few songs on our latest album.

bright, sloshy, cutting, and loud

So I only play 15" hi hats, because i love the sloshy washy big sound, I dont like them to be too crispy. The only downside of these hats is they easily get a choked out sound if you're not carefull with your left foot when you play it closed. I still used these to record most of our last album.

best midrange priced kit out there

I have played a lot of the midranged kits from the tama imperialstar to the gretsch catalina maple, and this guy is definite the best in every way. This quality is top notch for the price. I record with it all the time.

bradrummer

mid range warm and punchy

This snare has a mid range warmth to keep your snare punchy even when tuned high!

bradrummer

Low, smokey, and darker than ever

You think you may know what a dark cymbal sounds like because you play Zildjian K or Sabian HH, but this a totally different guy. I am telling you, this is dark man.

This does what it says it does

I got this because my bands mates are crazy and always and I mean ALWAYS knock my kick mic over. This one sits inside the drum so... problem solved.

bradrummer

go to snare drum mic

Can't go wrong with this guy. I use it for my snare.

bradrummer

firewire input can convert to thunderbolt for Mac

The reason I give this 3 stars is because you HAVE to restart your computer once you plug it in. The USB versions you don't. I got this so I could have 2 free usb plugs.

bradrummer

best bang for your buck

I have had a pair for over 3 years and they have been through it all. They are alive and well. Since they aren't custom molds, when i smile, the seal breaks. But I can still hear everything very clearly. Since I am a drummer, I don't need some quadruple driver iems.

bradrummer

my go to sticks

I play heavy and hard. I like the extreme (longer) vic firths. And the x55a is just a little bit thicker than the 5a without being a big ol' 5b

bradrummer

one more step boomier than it's coated version

If you are outdoors and want a little more boominess then don't go coated, go clear.

Great for any drum at any gig with any tuning.

If you don't know where to start or what head you want to end up with, just go with this one for any drum

bradrummer

most punchy and durable snare head

I have used this head for over a year of touring on my hammered black beauty. And no joke, people still ask me how I get my snare to sound so good. Keep in mind, I do have a super 30 strand snare wire on the bottom. I can tune it low, medium, or high. Sounds great. If you like low tunings, get this guy. If you dont want to worry about breaking your snare head during your whole tour, get this guy.

Easiest angle finder

I got this and upgraded from PDP's ball point snare stand, this one is a billions times better because it swivels on the top so you're not fighting gravity. It has clickable spikes too. Which is unnecessary in most situations, but every now in then, it saves your snare.

Great kit for gigging and recording

I have an older version of this with a different finish. But I used this kit for half of the songs in our album "Looking Forward to Looking Back" with Cinders. And I have used it touring the last few years. The sound guys ALWAYS tell me that the kick sound amazing. Definitely a gem.

bradrummer

best throne for your back

I like the round throne because I stand up so often during shows, and I don't have to worry about it spinning out of place. The saddle throne sucks when you sit back down on it wrong.

Versatile and perfect for any gig.

I actually have imperial lugs on there. I like them more for the flexibility. But this guy wrecks. I get compliments at ALL of my gigs from drummers and sound engineers I have been gigging and recording with this for the last few years. My only warning, is when you have double ply heads on it, it does add an undesirable bonk type sound in the studio, like in the mid to mid-low frequency range. And it's kind of hard to eq out without making the snare lifeless.
