Description

The PDP/DW Concept Maple drum set is a boutique-inspired marvel designed for drummers seeking both style and substance. This thoughtfully crafted kit brings together the expertise of DW's Custom Shop and the innovative design of PDP, delivering a drum set that's perfect for both budding musicians and seasoned professionals. The Concept Maple series stands out with its pure maple shells, known for their warm and resonant tones that enhance every performance.

What sets these drums apart is the incorporation of DW’s advanced Suspension Tom Mounts (STMs), allowing for maximum resonance and sustain. The toms are crafted in PDP's F.A.S.T. (Fundamentally Accurate Sized Toms) sizes, ensuring optimal tonal depth and clarity. The robust, lightweight aluminum floor tom legs provide stability without compromising on mobility, while the die-cast, low-mass claw hooks on the bass drums offer a secure grip without adding unnecessary weight.

Featuring chrome hardware and retro-inspired dual-turret lugs, this kit not only sounds exceptional but also catches the eye with its sleek design. The inclusion of DW’s True Pitch tension rods and Remo drum heads ensures that tuning is precise and consistent, while the graduated counterhoop thicknesses contribute to a balanced and dynamic sound. Whether you're building a custom setup or sticking with the classic configuration, the PDP/DW Concept Maple adapts to your unique style and musical journey.

Key Features:

  • Pure maple shells

PDP Concept Maple Review – Solid DW-Inspired Drum Set?

musicsculpt.com

The PDP Concept Maple kit delivers DW-inspired quality at an affordable price, making it a stellar choice for both beginners and seasoned drummers. Its robust build and versatile sound make it suitable for various musical genres, though it shines best in rock and gospel. The kit's aesthetic appeal, coupled with its easy tuning system and impressive snare throw-off, are standout features. However, the stock drumheads fall short, requiring an upgrade to unlock the kit’s full potential. Overall, it's a great buy for those seeking a bang for their buck, but remember you'll need to purchase hardware and cymbals separately.

PDP Concept Maple Review (2025) | Drum Helper

drumhelper.com

The PDP Concept Maple drum set brings DW-inspired sounds and aesthetics to a more accessible price range, making it a stellar choice for drummers seeking a mid-priced upgrade. With all-maple shells and pro-level features like STM suspension tom mounts and True-Pitch tuning rods, it offers impressive tonal depth and playability. The eye-catching Satin Seafoam finish adds to its allure. While the inclusion of Chinese-made Remo heads might leave room for tonal enhancement, the overall build quality and sound are commendable. Despite the lack of an undrilled bass drum option, the set's value-for-money is undeniable, making it a versatile choice for both stage and studio settings.

best midrange priced kit out there

I have played a lot of the midranged kits from the tama imperialstar to the gretsch catalina maple, and this guy is definite the best in every way. This quality is top notch for the price. I record with it all the time.

My Baby

I have a 6 piece (22 kick, 14 snare, 10, 12, 16, 18 tom) PDP Concept Maple kit in red to black fade. It is a studio quality kit for a price that I can justify.
