Description

The Gretsch Renown Maple drum set is a versatile powerhouse, designed to meet the demands of drummers across all genres. Crafted with precision, its 7-ply maple shells deliver a rich, full-bodied sound that is both sensitive and powerful. Whether you're channeling the mellow vibes of a 1950s jazz ensemble or the punchy beats of 1980s rock, this drum set adapts effortlessly to your playing style.

The Renown Maple's secret weapon is its 30-degree bearing edge, which imbues each drum with a softer attack and enhanced warmth, ensuring your playing resonates with clarity and depth. Additionally, the set features Gretsch's innovative 302 hoops. These hoops, while echoing the robustness of die-cast alternatives, are lighter, offering increased resonance and a more organic tone.

With a design that balances both nuance and punch, the Gretsch Renown Maple is not just a drum set—it's your gateway to the "Great Gretsch Sound." Its construction prioritizes quality and performance, making it a reliable companion for both studio sessions and live gigs.

Key Features:

  • 7-ply maple shells for a balanced tone
  • 30-degree bearing edges for softer attack and warmth

Gretsch Renown Maple 2016 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Gretsch Renown Maple 2016 is a standout in the pro-level acoustic kit market. Its tonal versatility and stunning appearance are major highlights, making it an excellent choice for drummers looking for a high-quality kit without breaking the bank. The introduction of 302 hoops enhances resonance, while the bass drum delivers a powerful sound without needing extra muffling. On the downside, some may miss the undrilled bass drum option, which is now reserved for higher-end models. Overall, it's a well-crafted kit that balances Gretsch's vintage charm with modern features.

Great kit for gigging and recording

I have an older version of this with a different finish. But I used this kit for half of the songs in our album "Looking Forward to Looking Back" with Cinders. And I have used it touring the last few years. The sound guys ALWAYS tell me that the kick sound amazing. Definitely a gem.
