Beetronics FX is a Los Angeles-based boutique effects pedal company founded by Brazilian-born guitarist Filipe Pampuri. After moving to LA with a band that had signed a record deal and touring for several years, Pampuri turned to electronics repair and DIY pedal building when the band dissolved. He and his brother each invested $1,700 to produce their first batch of pedals, which sold out within a week. Pampuri's wife, an architect, designed the distinctive enclosures that have become a hallmark of the brand's visual identity.
Beetronics is best known for handcrafted fuzz pedals with a playful bee-themed aesthetic — every pedal is built by hand in Los Angeles, and no two are exactly alike. Their bestselling Royal Jelly, a fuzz/overdrive blender co-designed with legendary engineer Howard Davis, anchors a lineup that includes the Swarm fuzz harmonizer, the Octahive high-octave fuzz, the Wannabee, the Tuna Fuzz, the Abelha tropical fuzz, and the LARVA morphing phaser, among others. The brand also offers a custom shop for one-of-a-kind builds.
