Pelican NoiseWorks is a small, one-person pedal shop based in Portland, Oregon, hand-building boutique guitar effects in small batches. The operation is run by a builder who goes by Tullian, and focuses on point-to-point style construction and idiosyncratic circuit designs rather than mass-produced gear.
The brand is best known for its fuzz pedals. The Pelitaur is a dual-circuit fuzz that pairs two distinct fuzz voices in one enclosure, with interactive gain, treble and output controls plus internal trim pots for further tweaking; later revisions added soft-touch relay bypass. The Half Horse is a JFET-based fuzz that was spun off from one half of the Pelitaur circuit, reworked for a wider gain range and more dynamic response, and controlled via Grain and Sound knobs. Pedals are sold direct as well as through boutique retailers such as Reverb, Guitar Pedal Shoppe, Guitar FX Direct and Pedal Empire.
Pelican NoiseWorks has 6 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Fuzz Effects Pedals and Overdrive Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 2 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock. Notable users include Gem Archer and Eirik Stordrange.
