Bitwig is a Berlin-based music software company founded in 2009 by Claes Johanson, Pablo Sara, Nicholas Allen, and Volker Schumacher, several of whom had previously worked on Ableton Live. The company's flagship product, Bitwig Studio, launched in 2014 as a cross-platform digital audio workstation running on Windows, macOS, and Linux — the Linux support being unusual in the professional DAW space and a key part of the product's identity.

Bitwig Studio is known for its modular approach to sound design and its focus on modulation, hybrid linear/clip-based workflow, and multi-instrument tracks. The Grid, introduced as a modular sound-design environment inside the DAW, lets users patch together synths and effects from low-level building blocks and has drawn comparisons to standalone modular environments like Reaktor and Max. Bitwig also offers tiered editions of the software, including Bitwig Studio, Producer, Essentials, and the free 16-Track version, and in 2025 the company released Bitwig Connect, its first hardware product — a combined audio/MIDI interface, monitor controller, and DAW controller.

The company is an active participant in open-standards work for music software, co-developing the CLAP plug-in format with u-he and publishing the DAWproject open file format for interchange between DAWs. Bitwig Studio has a strong following among electronic, experimental, and live-performance producers, and the platform's scripting-based controller API has made it popular with users of hardware from Novation, Native Instruments, Ableton (Push), and other MIDI controller makers.

Bitwig has 5 products cataloged on Equipboard, including DAW Software, Audio Interfaces, and MIDI Keyboard Controllers. Their gear is featured by 40 artists, with the strongest followings in Electronic, Hip Hop, and Pop. Notable users include Deadmau5, JPEGMAFIA, and TOKYO MACHINE.
