Blackout Effectors is a boutique guitar effects pedal company founded by Kyle Tompkins in 2008. Tompkins began building and modifying pedals in his kitchen in Vancouver, British Columbia, before relocating to Asheville, North Carolina in 2009, where he and his brother Ross grew the operation into a full-time business producing over 40 handmade pedals per week.

The company built a strong reputation for its take on Big Muff-style fuzz circuits, most notably the Musket Fuzz, a highly tweakable four-stage fuzz pedal with dedicated Pre, Mids, and Focus controls. Other well-regarded models include the Crystal Dagger (an octave/fuzz/phaser/ring mod combination pedal), the Cadavernous Reverb, the Whetstone Analog Phaser, the Blunderbuss Hybrid Fuzz, the Mantra Overdrive, and the Twosome Dual Fuzz. The brand's philosophy centered on releasing only designs that met their own creative standards, with Tompkins stating that "no one gets to decide what is cool besides us."

Blackout Effectors pedals have been used by artists including Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails, Guns N' Roses), Band of Horses, Baroness, Wilco, Animal Collective, Paramore, The Black Angels, Kylesa, Earthless, and Steve Von Till of Neurosis. The company ceased production around 2019, but its pedals remain sought after on the used market.

Blackout Effectors has 12 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Fuzz Effects Pedals, Phaser Effects Pedals, and Overdrive Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 19 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Metal, and Blues. Notable users include John Dyer Baizley, Laura Pleasants, and Andy Othling.
