Andy Othling's Gear
When recording just one amplifier, he uses a Shure SM57 as well as an RSM-5 microphone by Nady.
The preamp that ANdy uses for his microphones is the DMP3 preamp and direct box.
In the YouTube video by The Pedal Zone titled "Picking Andy Othling's Ambient Brain | It's Time to See your Pedalboard as a DAW," Andy Othling uses the Demedash Effects T-120 alongside other gear such as his Telecaster, Benson Amps, and various effects pedals including the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star and Signal Blender, Chase Bliss Audio Mood, Blooper, Generation Loss, and CXM 1978 Reverb, as well as the Electro-Harmonix POG2 and Death By Audio Evil Filter.
Strymon: "What type of pedalboard do you have?"
Andy Othling: "I’m using a Pedaltrain PT-3. It gives me enough space to have a good amount of pedals without getting overwhelming."
"Here's all the pedals on my board (the * means they were used in this video)

I'm playing a 52 Reissue Telecaster into a Matchless Clubman."

The BB sits to the left of the Timmy pedal.
On talking about recording his guitar, he says he uses two Shure SM57's as well as an Audix i5.
The SM81 is the microphone that Andy uses for acoustic, banjo, and cello tracks.
In reviewing his pedalboard, Andy passes over one of several varieties of patch cables that he uses: Hosa IRG cables.
In his 44th Sketch video, Andy's board now has the Whammy 5 by Digitech.
"I only played one note. Used the Micro POG to add an octave down to the signal, then froze it with the Superego. Then the Arpanoid gave us the slow, random arpeggiation (in mode 4, which is a major scale). Dry and wet signal were blended pretty equally. Then we used the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl to warm up the signal (get rid of some of the harshness from the Superego) and add a little warble. And then the final touch is a 100% wet reverse reverb from the BigSky. I think it sounds pretty awesome. Could probably sit and listen for a while."
"What we have here are two pedals from Earthquaker Devices, both which combine delay and reverb into a single device. I used to think that combining effects like this meant giving up control, but it turns out that that might not be such a bad thing! These two pedals make some amazing sounds that I don't think can be easily achieved with separate delay and reverb pedals.
In this video I'm playing a 1978 Les Paul, into the Dispatch Master and Disaster Transport SR, into a Matchless Clubman."
"The second video in this series, and another Earthquaker Devices pedal! These guys are quickly becoming one of my favorite companies because they're just wacky enough. I love it."
In this video Andy Othling shows his rig including an EHX Freeze.
