Ciat-Lonbarde is the instrument workshop of Peter Blasser, based in Baltimore, Maryland. Blasser apprenticed with Don Buchla in 2001 before developing his own idiosyncratic approach to analog synthesis, which favors wooden enclosures — often made from salvage wood — banana-jack patch matrices, and graphic glyphs etched into the panel in place of conventional text labels. The resulting instruments blur the line between synthesizer and folk object, and are designed to encourage circuit-bending-style exploration rather than programmed precision.

The catalog includes the Plumbutter, a polyrhythmic drum and drama machine built around interconnected pulse nodes; the Cocoquantus, which pairs two 8-bit digital delay modules (Cocos) with a central analog Quantussy brain for stereo lo-fi processing; the Sidrassi organ, with seven piezo-miked wooden bars and a 47-node patch matrix; and additional instruments such as the Deerhorn, Sidrax, Stuber, Rolzer, and Peterlin. Through a sister project called Shbobo, co-founded with Steve Korn, Blasser also released the Shnth, a programmable handheld digital synth that translates Ciat-Lonbarde's analog sensibility into code.

Ciat-Lonbarde instruments are produced in small batches and have a devoted following in the experimental, noise, and avant-garde electronic music communities, where they are valued for their unpredictable behavior, tactile wooden builds, and refusal to conform to standard synthesizer paradigms.
