Crumar is an Italian manufacturer of electronic musical instruments founded in 1971 by Mario Crucianelli and his partner F. Marchetti, with the brand name formed from the first syllables of the founders' surnames. Headquartered in the Treviso region of Italy, the company built its early reputation through the 1970s and 1980s with synthesizers, electric pianos, and string machines, including the DS-2 (one of the earliest synthesizers to use digitally controlled oscillators) and the Spirit, a 1983 analog synthesizer co-designed by Bob Moog alongside Jim Scott and Tom Rhea.
After a hiatus, the brand was revived in the late 2000s under VMConnection, with production returning to Italy. The modern catalog focuses largely on instruments aimed at gigging keyboardists: the Mojo line of clonewheel organs (including the Mojo 61, Mojo Suitcase, and Mojo Classic double-manual), the Seven and Seventeen digital electric pianos modeling Rhodes- and Wurlitzer-style sounds, and MIDI controllers such as the DK61. Crumar also collaborates closely with GSi (General Music Solutions) on the physical-modeling sound engines that power many of its instruments.
The company is known among organ and electric-piano enthusiasts for prioritizing authentic tonewheel and tine emulation, lightweight stage-ready hardware, and drawbar- or waterfall-key layouts tailored to Hammond and Rhodes players rather than general-purpose workstation users.
