The company grew out of Goodsell's earlier work repairing Hammond organs — after wiring a guitar jack into a Hammond and liking the sound, he began building tube guitar amps using leftover B3 chassis, transformers, and other organ-derived components. That salvage-and-repurpose approach defined the brand's early identity and shaped the circuit philosophy that followed.
