Founded by German-born amp builder Reinhold Bogner, Bogner Amplification is a boutique tube amplifier manufacturer based in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. Bogner moved to LA in 1989 on the advice of Kansas guitarist Rich Williams, arriving with a modified Marshall and $600 in cash. He quickly gained a reputation modifying amps for top session players and rock guitarists, including Steve Stevens and Michael Landau, before releasing the company's first production model, the Ecstasy, in 1992. The Ecstasy's three-channel design and wide tonal range — from shimmering cleans to saturated high-gain — established Bogner as one of the premier names in boutique amplification.

Bogner's amp lineup spans a wide tonal palette. The Überschall delivers crushing high-gain distortion favored by metal and hard rock players, while the Shiva offers a more vintage-voiced character. The Helios draws inspiration from hot-rodded British amps, and models like the Alchemist, Metropolis, Duende, and Goldfinger round out the range.
