Gorilla is a budget line of solid-state guitar amplifiers that emerged in the mid-1980s after Howard Chatt acquired Pignose Industries in 1985 and renamed the company Pignose-Gorilla, operating out of North Las Vegas, Nevada. While the Pignose name continued to carry the company's portable battery-powered amps, the Gorilla badge was applied to an affordable range of low-wattage practice combos manufactured in Taiwan and later elsewhere in Asia.

The brand is best known for small entry-level amps like the GG-20, a 20-watt solid-state combo with two-band EQ, a distortion channel, a Tube Stack switch and a headphone jack that became a common first amp for young guitarists through the late 1980s and 1990s. Other models in the lineup included the GG-10 and the GG-25 "Tube Cruncher," along with related TC-series combos (TC-35, TC-65). An early Gorilla model is sometimes cited as one of the first amps to suggest tone-control presets in its manual for emulating the sound of other well-known amplifiers, an early nod toward what would later become amp modeling.

Gorilla gear sits firmly in the beginner and practice-amp category rather than the pro-stage market, and the amps have largely retained their reputation as inexpensive, durable starter combos rather than boutique or professional rigs.
