The AC30's distinctive chiming tone became synonymous with British rock, used by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and many others during the 1960s.
Alongside amplifiers, VOX built a broader catalog of instruments and accessories that shaped the sound of popular music. The Continental electric organ, recognizable by its reversed black-and-white keyboard design, became a staple of 1960s and 70s pop and rock. The VOX wah-wah pedal, developed in the late 1960s, became one of the most widely used effects in electric guitar history, associated with players including Jimi Hendrix.
