Hologram Electronics is a boutique effects pedal company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, founded by Ryan Schaefer and Jason Campbell. Schaefer, a musician and frontman of the band Royal Bangs, and Campbell, an engineer, set out to create effects that could produce sounds previously unachievable with standard stompboxes. All of their pedals are designed and assembled by hand in their Knoxville workshop.

Hologram's catalog is built around synthesizer-inspired, transformative effects that treat instruments as raw material for radical sonic reinvention. Their debut pedal, the Dream Sequence, combined rhythmic delay with octave shifting to generate arpeggiated, hypnotic patterns. It was followed by the Infinite Jets Resynthesizer, which continuously captures and extends notes to produce swelling, indefinite sustain layered with fuzz and distortion. The Microcosm—their most widely adopted release—applies granular sampling, pitch shifting, micro-looping, and delay to reinterpret any input into ambient textures, glitchy fragments, and sweeping soundscapes. The Chroma Console takes a multi-effects approach with four independently controllable effect sections (Character, Movement, Diffusion, and Texture), each offering five distinct algorithms, allowing players to stack and reorder effects including reverb, fuzz, pitch shifting, and cassette-style warble.

The brand has attracted a devoted following among ambient guitarists, experimental producers, and electronic musicians drawn to its emphasis on sound design over conventional signal processing. Hologram's pedals are designed to function as instruments in their own right, pushing far beyond utility into the territory of creative tools that substantially reshape what a player puts in.
