Inkel is a South Korean audio electronics manufacturer whose name is a contraction of "International Korea Electronics." The brand emerged in the late 1970s out of Shinbang Electronics in the Bupyeong Industrial Complex in Incheon and, after being absorbed into larger Korean conglomerates, became closely tied to Dong Won Electronics and Inter-M. Inkel built its reputation on hi-fi separates — integrated amplifiers, tuners, cassette decks and CD players — that offered heavy, traditionally styled builds at accessible prices, with models such as the AI-5010 and AX-7010 drawing positive notices from German audio press in the early 1990s.

Beyond home audio, Inkel has a substantial footprint in professional and installed sound, producing rack-mount power amplifiers and analog mixing consoles aimed at PA, karaoke and small-venue use. The PRO.MX-1100 and PRO.MX-1200 analog mixers — 12-channel boards with per-channel three-band EQ, built-in echo, and graphic EQ on the master bus — are among the more widely circulated units and still turn up on the used market. The company has also manufactured receivers supporting Dolby Digital and DTS, mini/micro component systems, and OEM electronics for other brands.

Inkel is also the parent of the Sherwood hi-fi brand, which it acquired and continues to produce receivers and separates under for export markets. The company operates out of Korea and has historically done significant OEM work alongside its own-brand products, with additional activity in VoIP and telephony hardware under the Vatel name.
