Soundtracs was a British mixing console manufacturer founded in the early 1980s and based in Surbiton, Surrey, England. The company built a reputation through the 1980s and 1990s for affordable yet capable analog recording desks, finding a sweet spot between budget gear and high-end SSL/Neve consoles. Early models like the CM4400 established the brand, and it expanded its catalog with widely used in-line recording desks including the Topaz (offered in 24- and 32-channel configurations with 4-band channel EQ), the Solo MIDI with its discrete preamps and MIDI muting, and the Megas series. The flagship modular Jade console pushed the brand into larger studio territory.

In the 1990s Soundtracs began moving into digital, releasing consoles such as the Virtua, the DPC, the DS3, and the D4 series, helping to pioneer digital mixing for live and broadcast work. The intellectual property and digital console expertise built during this period became the foundation for DiGiCo, which was formed in 2002 around the acquisition of Soundtracs and went on to launch the D5 Live using technology developed under the Soundtracs name. Soundtracs analog desks remain in active circulation on the secondhand market and continue to be used in project studios and small commercial rooms.
