Meris is a Los Angeles-based effects pedal and pro audio company founded in 2013 by Terry Burton, a co-founder of Strymon, alongside DSP engineer Angelo Mazzocco and creative director Jinna Kim. All three previously worked at Line 6 and Strymon, bringing deep expertise in digital signal processing to the venture. Meris designs and manufactures all of its products in California.

The company initially focused on 500 series rack modules, including the 440 Mic Preamp and 500 series versions of its effects. In 2017, Meris launched its first effects pedals — the Mercury7 ambient reverb, Polymoon modulated delay, and Ottobit Jr. bitcrusher — which quickly earned a reputation for lush, cinematic sound design in compact formats.
