Description
From vintage videogame sound effects to glitched-out VHS artifacts, the Meris Ottobit X drenches guitars, synths, samples, and more in a wavering wash of ’80s nostalgia. This modular degradation and texture engine builds on the Meris Ottobit Jr. and Sr., expanding their gaming-inspired sound palette with a collection of lo-fi effects, advanced processing, and superior signal path control. A wealth of effects transforms even the most pristine of signals into a bugged-out dreamscape, including six distinct Glitch types, a trio of Filters, two Ambience options, five Pitch effects, four Preamp flavors, and five modes of Modulation. Factor in the graphic screen interface, four footswitches, and knob-based workflow, and the Ottobit X equally accommodates preset-based performance and players who prefer to sculpt their dream sounds from the ground up. Plus, you can also take dynamic in-the-moment control over your tone via the pedal’s robust MIDI implementation, by plugging in an expression pedal, or by diving into the Deep Modifier Section — the latter of which allows you to control effect parameters via LFOs, sequencers, the Hold Modifier footswitch, and more. Truly an instrument unto itself, the Meris Ottobit X gives you the power to push past traditional textures and experience the inspiring sonic anomalies of a bygone era.
