Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Meris LVX Modular Delay System Pedal.

Use cases and applications

  • Assigning envelope control to parameters is possible, enabling features like auto-wah, though not dynamically controlled like a Boss T-Wah.

    Source
  • The LVX excels at creating a stereo spread and enhancing reverberation, as demonstrated in recorded songs, but its looper is considered unusable by some.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • Some users consider the LVX a better deal than the RE-202 due to its extensive features, suggesting it's more comparable to the HX Stomp.

    Source

User experience

  • Users appreciate the LVX's lack of ALT buttons, which simplifies live usability compared to previous Meris pedals.

    Source
  • The LVX can create infinite repeats using a digital delay type with 100% feedback, assigning the envelope modifier to manage transition between notes.

    Source
  • It's noted that the LVX is not a plug-and-play pedal; it requires time to explore its extensive sound possibilities.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • The LVX supports firmware updates on Linux, unlike many pedals that require Windows or MacOS, making it more accessible for non-mainstream OS users.

    Source

    Source

Comparisons

  • Owners see the LVX as a potential replacement for the Polymoon, covering modulation, reverb, and delay needs, while also pulling features from the Enzo and Polymoon pedals.

    Source
  • Users report the LVX’s distortion is strident and hard, preferring dedicated dirt pedals for overdrive.

    Source
  • The LVX is more similar to the Thermae and Particle2 in capabilities than to the Hedra, which focuses on adding harmonies and voice.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The LVX has a modular routing approach similar to Poly Beebo, enhancing its flexibility and tweakability compared to traditional delay pedals.

    Source
  • The LVX lacks a secondary footswitch function for time warping, limiting on-the-fly adjustments without an expression pedal.

    Source
  • The LVX allows for tremolo effects by using the Volume preamp with an LFO, offering flexibility with multiple waveforms and adjustable volume range.

    Source
  • It can create a reverb effect by using the Poly structure with cranked Dimension and tailored feedback settings.

    Source
  • The LVX can emulate vibrato using a Micro Pitch effect with an assignable LFO, allowing for custom wave shapes and speeds.

    Source
  • Adjusting the Pre-Delay slider to short times with high Diffusion settings can produce flanged textures, offering unique sound-shaping abilities.

Meris LVX review — a game-changing delay pedal

guitar.com

The Meris LVX Modular Delay System redefines what a delay pedal can achieve, blending elegance with groundbreaking sound shaping capabilities. Its user-friendly interface and expansive sonic potential make it a playground for creative guitarists. However, the $600 price tag may deter those uncertain about their need for such advanced features. While the factory presets are largely usable, some may find them hit or miss. Ultimately, for adventurous players looking to explore new soundscapes, the LVX is a worthy investment, even if it may not replace every guitarist's go-to delay pedal.

positive

Meris LVX

A beautifully crafted modular delay system that excels in versatility and sound quality. The Meris LVX impresses with its easy-to-navigate interface and a plethora of effects options, making it a creative powerhouse for musicians. However, its higher price point might deter some, and while the depth of customization is impressive, it may feel overwhelming for those accustomed to simpler designs. Overall, the LVX stands out as a must-try for serious players seeking innovative delay solutions.

The Meris LVX Modular Delay System is a dream come true for musicians seeking a versatile and powerful delay pedal. With its extensive features—including multiple delay structures, effects placement options, and innovative modifiers—the LVX excels in creativity and sonic exploration. The user interface is impressively intuitive, balancing depth and accessibility. However, it can feel cumbersome when navigating certain settings, and some users may miss MIDI functionality for quick adjustments. While primarily designed for guitar, its capabilities as an outboard effect are noteworthy, making it a standout in its category. Overall, the LVX is an inspiring tool for both live and studio applications, though its price tag may give some pause.

Facebook of Jon Carin: In my pursuit of the perfect hoodie (I’ll explain later), I stumbled upon the brilliantly talented team that constitutes Meris, makers of exquisite sound manipulation devices (the words ‘pedals’ and ‘stomp boxes’ need to be retired). The LVX is a complex thing of beauty, but brilliantly & simply laid out. Just trying it in mono with guitar now, which sounds stunning, but I think it may be even better suited to keyboard textures. Can’t wait to try.
Highly recommended. That also goes for the hoodie.
